Helicopter Ride Mount Batur Volcano Kintamani Lake Bali
My Bali adventure truly took off with a thrilling helicopter ride! We opted for a private experience, and thankfully, Fly Bali was offering 10% off for the long weekend. What a deal. The standard helicopter tour starts at IDR 4,490,000 per seat, which is for the 20-minute GWK-Uluwatu route departing from Nusa Dua. That initial flight takes you soaring over iconic sights like Uluwatu Temple, the stunning Dreamland, Melasti, and Pandawa Beaches, and of course, the magnificent GWK statue.
Choosing Our Route: North or South?
To really soak in Bali’s diverse landscapes, a 30-60 minute flight is highly recommended. This allows you to witness both the northern and southern coastlines, even getting a glimpse of Mount Agung. We had to make a choice: north or south? The northern route is fantastic for spotting marine life off the coast of Nusa Penida. From Nusa Dua, the helicopter crosses the Badung Straits, and we were told you might even spot Manta Rays! This route also offers incredible views along Uluwatu’s dramatic limestone cliffs, with Mount Agung majestically in the background.
Mount Batur and Beyond
Ultimately, we decided on the extended southern route, and I’m so glad we did. This journey promised even more striking vistas, including the incredible Mount Batur volcano, the serene Kintamani Lake, the lush Jatiluwih Rice Fields, and the iconic Tanah Lot temple. Seeing Mount Batur and Kintamani Lake from above was an unforgettable experience – the scale of the volcano and the beauty of the lake are truly amplified when viewed from a helicopter. It felt like we were seeing a completely different side of Bali, a perspective you just can’t get from the ground. Helicopter land-in add-ons are available too, like convenient pickup and drop-off, picnics, or even optional landings for hiking along the way, but we just stuck to the aerial tour this time.
