Affordable Shared Helicopter Tour Over Nusa Penida Marine Life Bali

Thinking about something truly unforgettable to do in Bali without completely breaking the bank? I just got back from an incredible experience: an affordable shared helicopter tour over Nusa Penida’s marine life. You might think “helicopter” and “affordable” don’t go together, but this really surprised me!

My Nusa Penida Helicopter Tour Experience

The helipad is conveniently located in Nusa Dua, which is also the starting point for tours over iconic landmarks like GWK and Uluwatu Temple. My tour was the standard scenic route, exactly 20 minutes long. The price starts at IDR 4,490,000 per seat, which for a helicopter experience, felt genuinely reasonable for what you get. They even included complimentary beverages before we took off and a photo with the pilot afterward, which was a nice touch.

The real highlight, of course, was the flight itself. We flew over the Badung Straits, and true to what I’d heard, you can spot Manta Rays below! It’s an incredible feeling seeing these gentle giants from above, gracefully gliding through the clear waters. The views of the coastline and the vibrant coral reefs were absolutely striking. While the 20-minute tour gives you a fantastic taste, I can see why a 30-60 minute flight is recommended if you want to see all of Bali’s northern and southern beauty. Our flight focused on the Nusa Penida area and the marine life, which was exactly what I wanted.

Beyond the Marine Life: More to See

If you opt for a longer flight, the northern routes promise even more dramatic sights. Key northern landmarks include the dramatic limestone cliffs of Uluwatu (which we saw from a different angle on a shorter flight) and stunning black sand beaches. For those doing a North Bali helicopter flight, the majestic volcano of Mount Agung is clearly visible in the background, adding another layer of awe to the already incredible scenery. Even on my shorter marine life tour, the sheer scale and beauty of Bali from above was something I’ll never forget.
